Choosing this option in the word processor will not necessarily change the style in your Mendeley Desktop version Library.

Change bibliographic styles with 'Choose Citation Styles' in t he Mendeley toolbar.

Your bibliography will appear, and new citations will be added automatically.

At the end of your paper, click 'Insert Bibliography'.

To add a citation while writing, just click on 'Insert Citation' and a pop-up box will appear offering the opportunity to search for your citation by author, title or year in your Library or your Groups, or to go to Mendeley directly.

If you create a document using the Mendeley Cite-O-Matic plugin, you cannot convert it for use with Mendeley Cite. Mendeley Cite-O-Matic: for use only with Mendeley Desktop.

In Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac, the Mendeley text menu will be found by clicking on the script menu. There are two Mendeley Word add-ins that allow you to insert references from your Mendeley library: Mendeley Cite: for use with Mendeley Reference Manager or Mendeley Web.

In MS Word 20, the Mendeley plug-in may be found in the Word 'References' ribbon.

Place your cursor in the Word document at the point where you'd like to insert the citation, and add a space so your references don't get smushed. We'll choose American Psychological Association. Select the Mendeley toolbar, and you should find buttons 'Insert Citation', 'Insert Bibliography', etc. To insert a citation using the Mendeley plug-in, first select a style from the dropdown menu by clicking on the arrow.

In Windows machines (some versions MS Word), you should find the Mendeley toolbar in View > Toolbars in the word processor menu.

In the drop down menu, click on the appropriate line to 'Install MS Word/LibreOffice Plugin'. To install the plug-ins, go to the Tools menu on the Mendeley Desktop version. Mendeley offers word processing plug-ins for Microsoft Word and LibreOffice.
